Highland Dance
Thistle Dancers	The Thistle Dancers is a group of talented young dancers who perform the traditional dances of Scotland. Formed in 1998, they have performed extensively throughout Northern Virginia, Southern Maryland, and the Washington DC area. Frequently, they perform with the City of Alexandria Pipes and Drums. Susan W. Hyams, a member of the British Association of Teachers of Dancing, is their founder, director and instructor. School location are in Burke, VA; Alexandria, VA; and Lusby, MD

Pipe Bands
78th Fraser Highlanders Pipe Band	Over the 15 times it has traveled to and competed in the premier Grade One at the World Pipe Band Championships in Scotland, the 78th have been in the prize list 11 times, and in 1987 the 78th became the first non-Scottish band to win the coveted award.
City of Washington Pipe Band	The 1999 Grade 2 World Champions now playing in Grade 1.
Dysart & Dundonald Pipe Band	One of the worlds premier Grade 1 bands from Scotland
Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band	The Field Marshall Montgomery Pipe Band, based in Northern Ireland, is the current World Champions (2002)and one of the worlds premier Grade 1 pipe bands. They are three-time World Champions in Grade 1.
